That's right, folks, she went pee pee on the potty!! (And, yes, one day, years and years from now, she will be very angry with me for this post, but for now, I'm just a proud Mama!)
Lily has recently begun to show interest in the potty so I decided it was time to try. With Han we were able to use the toilet insert-thingy. When you are as tiny as Lil, the toilet is rather big and well, Lil wanted nothing to do with it. To get past this, we instead bought a potty seat. In fact, we bought one for downstairs and one for upstairs. While we were looking for the potty (may I tell you how hard it was to find a nice, simple, PLAIN one? I found this one and this one. Could I find a nice, simple plain one with no bells and whistles? Not without a good deal of searching. Finally, we found a simple, plain one and as I was loading it in the cart, Lil noticed the "big girl panties" on the other side of the cart. She demanded the Tinkerbell panties and couldn't wait to get home and put them on!
Lil stripped the diaper off as soon as we got in the door and DEMANDED the panties. As I was putting them on her, I reminded her again and again that if she needed to go pee pee she needed to go to the potty. I showed her where the potty was and once again reminded her she needed to use the potty if she had to pee pee. Dani and I hit the road to pick up lunch and left a panties-clad Lil is Brien's care. When we returned we noticed Lily had on a new pair of pants...um, yeah. No sooner had we left the house than Lil had her first accident.
We put her in a diaper for nap time and after her nap she DEMANDED her "Tinker panties" once again. :oP Dani and I had to dash out again while B prepared dinner, but not before once again reminding Lil that if she needed to pee pee she needed to use the potty. When Dani and I returned, we were greeted with a naked bum winking at us as Lily helped her Daddy cook. It seems Lily objected to wet pants and Croc-Crocs...
We sent her upstairs for a diaper and she returned with...her third and final pair of panties. Hm. She made it accident free for the rest of the evening. We didn't ask if she had to use the potty, we just told her she needed to sit on the potty for a few minutes. Before we watched "Shaun the Sheep" we put her on her potty and she sat for a moment, stood up and said, "Dere's the pee pee!" And, there it was indeed. To all the family we called, thank you for your enthusiasm. I'm hoping this keeps up! :fingers crossed:
My baby is growing up. She's wearing panties, sleeping in her big girl bed again tonight, jabbering away. I'm so proud, and yet, I miss my baby.

Today's Sparklies:
1. Lil picked up one of the DS games this evening, and very scarily, managed to get Mario to move and jump. It's quite frightening how quickly kiddos are picking up on technology these days!
2. Dani's here!!
3. Lil got a new hat today--one she selected. :o) As we were walking through Target, she said, "I need a hat." "Which hat, Lil?" "Dis one!" "Um, which one? This one?" "No, DAT one. The one with the sparklies!" Yup. I have another sparkly girl! :o)
4. The world's best margarita. Ahhhhh. There is nothing like them anywhere. I'm so spoiled I will no longer order a margarita in a restaurant.
5. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". This movie makes me laugh so much--I LOVE it! :o)
Speaking of which, I'm off to enjoy the movie! :o)

What a great mom! Put Lily's first potty picture on the blogspot. Wheeee!!! Think of the story you can tell when she brings her boyfriends home. LOL.
I am on my way to bed and that is a great happy story to fall asleep too. Thanks for sharing!
Hugs!!
Lily's T-Shirt-I love penguins!!!
What a "big girl" she is! Girls are soooo much easier to potty train than boys! My own experience with my two boys, and my grandson have proved that. My grandson, Gabe, pooped in a pull up until about a month ago. He's 4 years old!! He had the underwear thing down forever, but asked for a pull up to poop. Finally, on his own he decided the toilet was for "everything".
I have a "funny" about that---my two grandchildren come over every Sunday--last Sunday, after I sent him in to potty (you know, the "dance") I asked him if he had washed his hands. "No grandma, I just closed my eyes and I did'nt touch my penis"! Hmmmmm....
My granddaughter Ella, is just learning about the potty at 2-1/2. She has "princess" underwear, and after the first wet, she appeared with a diaper, and Cinderella underwear over the top of the diaper!!! Oh they joys!!!

Dear Rachel
This picture of your lovely Lily is so cute and it made me remember that I did it the same in the album of one of my three children, and when years passed by, he was indeed angry with me when he saw the picture, but that's how we mom's are, so grateful about everything our Kiddos do.
Now is the time for me to enjoy my garndson, and how fortune I am to be already retired so that I can see him grow everyday.
Yesterday I sent a comment to you, did you received it?
I was so impressed with your blog, that I couldn't read it without sending you all my deepest admiration.
Please forgive my bad english.
I'm sending you and your family my sincere and big Hug, from Portugal with love
Maria
Congratulations Lily !!! It's always hard to find a simple inexpensive potty, especially since they won't use it until they are 18 !!! lol
Hooray for Lily!!!!! How wonderful!

Yay! I'm so excited for you guys! Lil really is turning into a big girl, it is so amazing.
WOOOHOOOOO Lily! (I hope we were suitably excited on the phone)
Big day for Lily. WTG, kiddo!
I loved "Big Fat Greek Wedding" too. Funny, funny movie. I hope we see more from this actress - it's been a few years.
Good job for her! I was over 3 before my parents tried that whole thing and they were well, quite determined....they put me on there until I went but instead I fell asleep! :oD
Congratulations, Lily! You are such a wonderful little girl!
It's great to read these updates, Rach. I had NO idea there are so many fancy potties on the market. We really can find ANYTHING in America. It often makes me cringe, but then I also think, "To each his own, I suppose." I think your choice in potties is the perfect one, though. I hope Lily continues to feel proud of great accomplishment.
Good for Lil. My almost 2 yr old will sit on the potty but has yet to fill it with anything.
Awesome work on the potty training. Her little "chillin" shirt is highly appropriate for that wait time. ;)
Yay for Lily and I love that pic of her, even if it will mortify her later in life!
I love that movie too. I really need to watch it again soon.
