So, how much does my husband love me? He took Miss Lil off for a "date" at the local "Chik-A-LA" for nuggets and some playtime and then off to do a bit of grocery shopping. Why, you may ask? Well, because I needed a shower and some alone time. He didn't ask me if I needed this, he just assumed I did, bundled up the Bit and headed out the door. They were gone for two hours and it was so so sweet. I'm hoping they had as good a time as I had. :o)
These photos of Miss Bit were taken last night after out bath. She and I had a swim in "mommy's tub" and then did nails when we got out. We also used Mommy's special "green wotion" (B&BW Coconut Lime Verbena) and then Lily traipsed off to get her "jah-mas". She returned with this ensemble: monkey jammies top, blue flowered jamma pants and the "hat". Nice, huh? It sure did make Brien and me grin. :o)
I discovered something fairly strange last night--I've been parting Lil's hair on the wrong side. Huh? How is that possible and how did I figure it out? Well, I had been parting it on the left (right side as you look at her) because that is the direction of her crown swirl and the location of the crown. I assumed (obviously erroneously) this should be where her hair parted. However, no matter how hard I worked to keep her hair out of her face, it always seemed to fall back in it. Then, after naps, her hair would sort of fall from a part on the right and stay out of her face. Odd, but worth looking into I thought. So, last night after her bath, I parted her hair on the right (like me--go figure) and her hair has been out of her face without the use of "hair bones" all day. Yay! I'm just glad I figured this out now and not when she's a teenager, having fought with a part all her childhood...

In other news, it is official, Lily most definitely has MY temper. :sigh: She get extremely angry with me today and swung at me as she shouted, "I'm wooking for my bear!!" Of course, this was after I had gone upstairs to put her back in her room for the fortieth time so we were both a little frustrated with each other at this point. Needless to say, Miss Thing was in quite a bit of trouble over that little stunt and we have once again had a lecture (I would say "conversation", but well, Lil listened and didn't much respond) about appropriate behavior. I understand getting frustrated and I understand the desire to have ones own way. However, she needs to learn more appropriate outlets for it. Being two is hard, but being a parent sure is harder!!

Today's Sparklies:
1. Home alone for TWO hours! Thank you, Sweetie! :o)
2. Sour patch kids. :shudder: I just LOVE 'em. :shudder: Although, just thinking of them makes my mouth water and me :shudder: shudder. Hee hee!
3. I got to play with my "Fresh Cuts" stamp set and cards today. I'm hoping they will be selling the cards in the new catalog and that these aren't just a promotional item, as I've fallen in love with the simplicity of the card. :o) You can see them if you scroll to the next post.
4. Family and friends.
5. The fun little tree frog who was hanging out on the sidelight last night. I could see its little tummy and finger and toe pads. It was so cool!
6. The story Melissa shared in her comments last night. Thank God, Melissa, that's all. Thank the Lord.
No milestones.

must be something in the water - Adam had a freak out today and SCREAMED at me in the car for 40 minutes *sigh* I wish my hubby would take the babies out and give me some alone time!
Hey Rachel!! I come to your blog at least once a week or so just to check and see how you'll are doing. Miss Lil is growing up so big!! Monkey Studios turned out beautiful and I love your cards! You have come so far and you have a wonderful support system all around you.
About 8 months ago you posted our news of the birth of Tucker. I never sent you a comment to thank you for thinking of us and to let you know that the blog about the family reunion was wonderful.
Just a little update - we named him John Tucker - John after all the men in both families and Tucker after...Tucker. He will be 9 months on the 16th and is rotten, rotten, rotten....
Anyway, I would love to here from you sometime. CLKL_785@msn.com
Take care - Laura
I have been following your blog for the past year. I learned about it from a friend of mine. It is funny how much I feel like I know your family. Two years ago we were through your area so I feel like I can relate. I especially love the Yankee Flagship store. Totally awesome! I have a new appreciation for the water. We have a pool in our yard and three small children. After sharing your lives with you for the last year, I am more careful and aware of the dangers that can loom when you least expect them. Your strength in amazing to me and you are an inspiration! Thanks for being so real. I will be thinking of Hannah on the 19th!
What a sweetie Brien is for giving you some much needed alone time today. I'm sure he had fun with Lily too. Your new cards are so beautiful and different than the rest. Must be the spirit in the new studio:) I thought your "maiden" name was a nickname with a secret meaning:) Lilys jah-mas crack me up. She definitely has something goin on that is blooming in her. Must be the sparklie gene. I have no advice to give on the "2's". I only know it will pass. They just need to be reminded who is bigger and older. They seem to be legends in their own little minds. sigh!~
Hope you have a wonderful night and blessed day tomorrow. I love you.

Well it must be something in the family with the sour patch kids. We love them around here too. Aaron took 2 big multi packs with him on his trip to the UK this week. He couldn't go 3 weeks without them. They are great for traveling because he put a ton of them in his backpack and the rest in his luggage.
This set of my cards are my absolute faves that you have made. I have loved them all but these rank at the top. Love, Terena
Yay for Brien! He really is one of a kind. I totally sympathize on the Lil front. Anwyn is being a real beast right now and has one heck of a temper. She does look adorable in those pics those - cool choice of outfit Lily!
Enjoy your Chinese food!
I am so glad my Sugar Bear is a sparkly for you today, He certainly has been one for me for 6 years.
Ryan is my love, and when I heard his story I was in tears. I thought of you, I thought of all that have lost and am just so thankful.
(he went to the doc today as well because I was all paranoid about the dry drowning thing that Jess had posted, he is all good, and STILL wants to swim. My sister really needs to have a talk with him about the floaties until this summer is up, that lake can be rough when the wind is up) His swimming coach teaches in a pool. DUR.
Rachel,
Hi! I have never left you a comment but I have been reading your blog for about a year. I have prayed daily for you and your family. I feel so connected to you for so many reasons. I am a teacher and live in Giles Co. - where the Cascades are located. Your blog has touched me in so many ways-just an example-you have mentioned Jarrett Lane(the young man from VT)and he dated my sister-in-law for quite some time, and I have a son that was born in August 2001. Also, I used to teach in Spanishburg, WV which is very close to Lashmeet/Matoaka. It is unreal how many ways I have been able to relate/connect to your blog. My husband had a business trip in Williamsburg back in May and the boys and I tagged along. I would have loved to have run into you but didn't. However, we did stumble upon Kidsburg and it was so ironic that you blogged about it two days later that you had been there with Lil. I hope that I get a response from you. You need to try Bare Escentuals because it is fabulous! I just got back from Charlotte, NC yesterday and did some damage in the BE store. You are such a strong person and I will be thinking of you, your family and Hannah in the upcoming week. Have a wonderful celebration! My family and I will take some sparkles to the Cascades the next time we go hiking and toss in Hannah's memory. Take care! Have a great night!

I LOVE Lil's pajamas!! :) And - Way to go Brien! (He's a keeper I think) :)
Hugs.
I am so glad you had some time to yourself. Those pictures of Lily are beautiful. It's funny, as a hairstylist, I can't tell you how many times a mom and/or dad got excited over how much easier it was to comb hair once the part was on the right side. Many, many hugs...
Check out my blog from today if you have a chance. I have a little something there for you!
I adore that outfit...My grand-daughter is so much like that, loves clothes! And she is only 15 months old. Your hubby is so sweet to let you have some pampering time by yourself.
Oh my goodness Lil is too cute! Can't wait to see you guys! Oh and I loooove the cards below, well all of them but those especially.
I love the cards!! They are so pretty. And Lily is just to cute :o)
I hope that all goes well and smooth with your party.
