The Procrastinator Strikes Again

Why why why why why do I insist on putting things that NEED to be done off to the last minute??? WHY?????

Oh, wait, I know why, because the things I'm doing are fun and the things I need to do, not so much. Well, that's not quite true. I do enjoy planning my classes and teaching, it's just, sometimes, it's still a bit overwhelming. There's something almost overwhelming about taking a curriculum and making a year's course of it. The pacing, the lessons, the objectives, you name it.

So, today when I should have been planning, I was instead reading and playing and just having fun. Now, I've gotta do the work. Lissie always says, "Work before pleasure". Too bad I didn't take the advice...

Dearest Joani, I'm SO SO SO SO SO sorry I miss-named the artists of my gorgeous Hannah drawings. So sorry. I KNEW it was you and yet I still messed it up. Please forgive me. Mea culpa.

It is so hard to get back into the swing of things!

There are occasions that I will tackle the crub that needs to be done to get it out of the way. There are times that I will intermix it with the fun stuff to make it like I'm rewarding myself and then, sometimes, I wait until the end. That one is a bummer. I try not to do that often, because it kicks my reflux into high gear and I don't sleep because I'm worried.

Pace yourself my friend! Oh, and reward yourself with chocolate and FM ice cream!

My sister is a teacher and a procrastinator so I try to get her to do her planning Saturday so then she'll be free the rest of the weekend. When I taught kindergarten, I was single with no kids and no life so I used to do my laundry and lesson plans Saturday night. Now, I KNOW I would be playing and leaving those plans until the last minute. Good luck!

I'm a HUGE procrastinator too! I have fun all day with the kids (well mostly LOL) and rush around just before Shawn gets home tidying up and making it look like I was busy all day. Sometimes I give it a lick and a promise and simmer PineSol on the stove for effect LOL
