Knackered

It's 9:15 and I'm only just sitting down. Lily and I ran around trying to take care of last minute "stuff" before we head to Annapolis tomorrow. I picked her up and we went to Cacique to find a strapless foundation garment which they did not have in stock. I'm therefore having said item shipped overnight to Robin's house. Don't you love the modern age?

From there we had "Taquito" for dinner, sharing a chicken quesadilla. Lily charmed the two other ladies in the restaurant and from there we hit Gymber. Although Lily's dress for the wedding is quite cute, it is sleeveless. She needed a sweater to wear with it and Gymber is my go-to place. Bad idea. Very very bad idea. The Gymber Outlet was having a 40% off sale and Lily is now the proud owner of the cutest "kitty" clothes. Oh, and a GORGEOUS formal black wool coat.

We then raced to the kitty store to pick up crickets. While I was waiting for the crickets, Lil wandered over to look at the kitties (which she so desperately adores). I stood watching her and saw a young lady approach to admire the kitties as well. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Lil strike up a conversation with lady! Yes, my little introvert chatted for a full five minutes with a college girl. And, the girl was lovely enough to take Lil's conversation seriously and chat back. It was so sweet. :o)

We made a final mad dash to Tar-jay where I needed to purchase all new hair "noodles" (they just didn't survive the boiling), tights (I couldn't find any cream colored cotton tights in Lil's size, grrrrr), socks (her foot has finally grown and it's now too cold to wear Croc Crocs with no socks) and fabric softener. As we were perusing the shoes (I was trying to find a cute pair of leather patent leather shoes (all the have are plastic :sigh:) to go with the new leopard print kitty clothes) and chatting with Lil, Edie walked over. Oh, how joyous!!! I hadn't seen Edie in close to a year and it was just wonderful. :o) She just makes me feel good.

We got home, I lugged in our purchases, let the dogs out (bless their little hearts they'd been crated since 7:00 this morning) went back out to clean out the van and then dragged Lil upstairs where I corralled all the trash, fed the crickets to the lizards and detaginated (don't you just love the words I make up?) the new clothing. I then packed Lil's "zootcase" (Hannah-ism), put her to bed and came downstairs to clean the kitchen. And now, I'm finally, finally sitting down. Whew.

I now realize I'm feeling rather nauseated and hope it's just from all the running around. I'm going to finish this post, play on Facebook for a moment and then head upstairs to pack. We'll be leaving as soon after noon as we can tomorrow which means I need to be ready to ROLL when I get home from conferences!

Meanwhile, Brien and Pop are in Blacksburg watching our beloved Hokies play Maryland. So far, so good. :fingers crossed: They'll be back early-ish tomorrow morning and then he can take the dogs to the resort and pick Lily up from Shari's.

I'm SO excited for this weekend!!! Lawrence and Robin are such a perfect couple and I always enjoy a good wedding and "party" afterward. :o) Here's hoping I don't forget to pack anything...

Today's Sparklies:

1. Today was ostensibly Friday since the kiddos won't be in tomorrow.
2. Myh school nurse declared me all clean and clear scalp/hair wise. Whew! ;o)
3. Lil's nit-free. YES!
4. First play of the second half: the Hokies sack the MD QB, knock the ball loose, recover the fumble and take possession of the ball on the 20 yard line. YES! They're in for a FG. Woo HOO!!!
5. I only work a half day tomorrow and I'm all ready for the trip. I've got a new Bill Bryson downloaded and loaded onto the iPod. :o)
6. Seeing Edie. :o)
7. The cool breeze that's wafting through the living room.
8. Sure, I'm not thrilled B's not home, but I get the whole bed to myself tonight. Hee hee!

No Milestones

I suppose I should get off to take care of that whole packing thing. I'll try to touch-base some time this weekend. If I don't make it, ya'll have a FABULOUS weekend! :o)

Good grief Rach, no wonder you are exhausted! You know that I understand your Gymber pain - I cannot go there and get just one thing, ever!

Enjoy the wedding and have a fabulous weekend!

I can't wait to see pics of Robin's wedding! How exciting! One cousin getting married and one getting ready to have a baby (woohoo Karey!). That is what is so fun about having a *huge* family - always something fantastic going on with someone. ;-)

Did you ever find that huge box of clothes that I sent you? I can't believe you would need another piece of clothing for Lily... there were TONS in there!

I don't know if you will get this in time but to solve the cream color tights problem I always boiled a tea bag placed white tights in the tea while it was steeping pulled them out washed them and they were the best cream tights until of course they got holes!

Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing pictures!

Enjoy the weekend, I hope you have beautiful weather and a great time.

Oh, and how I wish we had a Gymber outlet around here. I have asked my sister in Michigan to look into finding one in her neck of the woods. Love always, Pam
