1. I bite my nails. I've been a nail biter forever and no matter what I've tried I still can't break the habit. Even when I have acrylics on I still find my fingers in my mouth.
2. I sucked my thumb until I was 10. Santa used to dye my thumb during the night on Christmas Eve and when I awoke Christmas Day I would have a green, red, or blue thumb. :oP
3. I'm quite possibly the world's most insecure human being. I second guess myself on EVERYTHING and rarely think things I've created are good enough. I'm my own worst critic.
4. I can't stand conflict. I'm a peace maker, a Pollyanna, I don't like strife. Why can't we all just get along?? For this reason, I avoid any and all controversial topics unless I know for certain the person with whom I'm conversing and I share the same opinions. Which leads me to number 5.
5. I'm lousy at debating anything. I lead with my heart and have to wait for my head to catch up. I like to think I'm a reasonably intelligent human being but when it comes to thinking on my feet and defending my point of view I get flustered.
6. I have fat, flat, wide feet. Think Fred Flintstone and you know how my feet look. Trying to find anything cute and stylish that actually fit is often an effort in futility.
7. I LOVE to play board games and games in general even though I'm one of the unluckiest human beings alive and rarely if ever win. Seriously. I've NEVER won a game of BINGO and if luck is involved, I know I'm most likely going to lose. :o) And yet, I love playing and strive to be a good sportsman and not be stinky when the losing begins. I'm okay with games where I know my skills will help me, such as SPIT, Boggle, SET and Scrabble. It's just those others that give me fits. Hee hee.
Now, who to tag, who to tag? Hmmm. Tell ya what, if you want to play along, let me know you've done so in the comments. :o)

I got to Shari's this afternoon and was greeted by a bounding Lily who gleefully informed me she got all smiley faces today. Hooray! After the cruddy start she and I had this morning I was quite worried. She was up too early and therefore grumpy and not moving very quickly and I, who had started the day ahead of schedule wound up running ten minutes late. Grrrrr!!
Thankfully her foul mood didn't follow her to Shari's and carry through the day. Yesterday was an aberration, a definite Alexander day. Whew!

Today's Sparklies:
1. Still groovin' on Pandora. Tonight's station is John Denver. Yes, I have very um, interesting taste in music...
2. I'm getting the blog finished before I get Lil into bed tonight. Hooray!
3. The tuna casserole in the oven smells divine. I love a good casserole. Not only is it yummy comfort food, it takes minimal prep and cooks for an hour, allowing you do get other chores (or, ahem, blogging) done during that time.
4. The cold weather is now here. Hooray! I know I know, I really am a sick and twisted individual that I actually enjoy being cold. Okay, I don't necessarily enjoy it, but I certainly tolerate it a heck of a lot better than I do the heat.
5.
6.
See that greyish speck in the middle of the blanket pile, that's a dog. :oP Tell me how an animal covered in fur can be so attracted to soft, fuzzy blankies? How does he know?
No milestones.

Well, a load of laundry needs folding and another needs tossing in the dryer and the tuna's about done so I'm off. Have a good one, everyone!

Very interesting 7 things! I laughed about the feet one. Sounds like my oldest daughter's feet. I hoped when I was preg. that she would just get my feet.... she didn't! My family has threatened to get her a Flintstone car since she was born! :0)
Ahh, I have some Flintstone feet myself :)
I have tons of John Denver on my Zune :) I think I'll go listen to him while I load up the dishwasher!
I did the 7 random things a bit back on my blog!
You must try the shoes at www.stephenbonanno.com They are the most comfortable shoes ever and so fun to design. They will custom make the shoes to fit your feet. You can even do Virginia Tech colors! They are a bit pricey but worth it.

I gave it a try!
You are so interesting, Rach! I love that you are so open about your life here, and yet you aren't willing to rock the boat and be controversial about anything, either. I think you are a much more peaceful person than I am! I am an inveterate boat rocker (as the blog suggests). But I love widely and deeply, and am generally capable of getting past just about any serious differences of opinion once I know someone.
Very cool abou the board games, too. I played Scrabble for the first time as an adult sometime last year, and no one will play with me again. I bought a set and everything. But I get intense about it, and I'm an English prof, so there's an unfair advantage when it comes to words (at least before 5:00 pm, when my brain officially shuts off for the night... I'm not a night person).
So I have to ask you about the thumb sucking. Did it do any irreparable harm? The dentist keeps scaring the hell out of me because Sophie is still doing it at night (she's 5). Should I really be worried? I don't have the heart to dip her thumb in yucky stuff or tie up her arm with an ace bandage (the dentist's suggestion). I think braces are inevitable, but the dentist keeps saying things like she'll have a permanently malformed palate and need surgery, etc., etc., and it just seems really drastic and extreme to me. She's FIVE. Her kindergarten teacher didn't even realize she's a thumbsucker because she doesn't do it during the day at all anymore. Jeeze Louise, so much angst about her thumb. I was so grateful for the thumb when she was born. She knows how to take care of her needs, that girl of mine, and I respect that.
BTW, your cards are GORGEOUS, and since I just made my first real cards ever the other night, I have a newfound appreciation of your talent and skill. It takes both to make great cards, and you make great cards! I made one for you, so I will send it along as soon as I get my act together. LOL! No, really, I really will send it, mistakes and all.
Have a good night!
Ugh - I hear you on the nail biting! I'm a lifer despite my desires to stop. I get acrylic nails now and most weeks can keep from biting them, but if I get into a stressful situation - foget it!
Rachael,
I have the same Flinstone feet! I actually had a shoe place send me an official shoe sizing chart once, and my feet went clear out to the absolute widest mark =). I love shoebuy.com because you can do a search by size and width, the shipping is free there and back, and they usually have a coupon if you do a coupon code search.
Oh, my boys LOVED The Great Brain books, by the way =). I only bought three of them because they seemed to be getting too many mischievous ideas (that would be the reason I haven't introduced Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn...), but they really enjoyed those three!

Seems we are not alone in the Fred Flintstone feet huh? Yep, I have them too.
Hugs.
Oh what a great list! I have the same feet. I would do anything for a cute pair of fall boots that would fit my feet...and my calf muscles! :)
So good to hear that Lily is doing better. ADORABLE pic of her - what a GRIN! :)
Hehehe...i love reading those lists!! It reminds me that EVERYONE has *ahem* "issues"...LOL....
I think the picture of the pup is funny.....but I have to admit, I would snuggle right in there with him! :)
Hugs to you and the family!!~
I'm totally with you on 4, 6 & 7!!! :o)
OMG - I'm very similar, I don't bite my nails, I STILL suck my thumb but all the others are spot on!
I'm owning up but staying anonymous if I can!

I'm a regular, but don't comment much. Thanks for being brave and sharing your story. You are an inspiration. You can catch my seven random things if you have time. Happy Thanksgiving to your entire family. P.S. I'm a Stampin Up! freakazoid.
