What I've Accomplished This Weekend

I've been SOOOOO busy! I have no time to write--it's already 9:00 and I'd like to get to bed early-ish since Lil has slept fitfully and terribly since we got home. To that end, I'll just post a list:
  • made my weekly menu and posted it on the calendar
  • grocery shopped and refilled the pantry with staples and the fridge with consumables
  • made a hot fudge pie (I'll post the recipe if anyone's interested)
  • put over 1800 lights on my 6 1/2 foot Christmas tree (I LOVE me some lights!)
  • met George and Bonita
  • visited with George and Bonita and let them see my extremely messy studio--oy
  • visited with Ruhiyyih (she came with her mom and dad)
  • watched the Hokies beat UVA (thank goodness!)
  • talked with Robin briefly as she was only calling to brag she was at the ballgame...
  • decorated the Christmas tree with Lil's help--boy is she into the spirit of the holiday this year!
  • met up with Ruhiyyih, Bonita and George at Giuseppe's--yum!
  • finished the tree trimming and decorating downstairs
  • leveled my new Death Knight night elf to 59--look out 60, here I come, lol ;oP
  • procured goodies to fill Lil's Advent calendar (I get the little paper one she gets the one with the "Number Fives" hee hee!)
  • cleaned the studio and got Han's tree up--the ornaments will be put on tomorrow and yes, I'm planning on photographing all of them. It's so wonderful to see what it is that reminds people of the Monkey. :o) This has really given me something to look forward to this year. Thank you all so much for participating and helping me remember my baby. :o)
  • finished the remaining boxes of cards (I'll do a HUGE post with photos tomorrow, I promise!)
  • fixed soup and grilled cheese for dinner--so good on a foggy, dreary day
  • boxed up the cards to ship to Lissie
  • boxed up goodies to ship to Jessie
  • boxed up ornaments to ship to Sumi and Sheye
  • read "Olivia" to Lil
  • watched "Ralphie" something like six times--no kidding
And, there you have my weekend. Please note there was no mention of grading papers (I'm SOOOO behind at the moment :sigh:), nor of making my own Christmas cards, nor of planning this weekend's workshop. I'm going to be busy busy busy these next few weeks and I'm really looking forward to it--all but the grading that is. ;oP

I'm also hoping to sit and reflect on Christmas without Hannah this year. I've got so much bubbling inside but now's not the time to write. I've got a Honey who wants to snuggle with me which at the moment is far more important. :o)

Weekend Sparklies:

Please see list above! I'm throwing myself head-first into the holiday season and I'm loving every minute of it! :o)

Milestones:

Well, it's Christmas season number two without Han and yet, I swear, I feel her all around me. She's here, boy is she here. Lily has been much more cognizant of the fact Hannah isn't here and will tell people she has a sister who is in heaven. She's quite distraught she can't get to her or see her. We're working on it. I have the book, God Gave Us Heaven which we read and seems to help some. It's just hard. This is all so hard. :sigh:

***********************************

My sweet Hunny Bunny is sitting next to me waiting patiently so I'm off. I wish you all a happy Monday, and just think, only 25 more days until Christmas! Woo hoo! My house sure looks ready! :o)

Congrats on getting all the decorating done! I need to see pics of your tree. Every year Steve and I have the "how many lights" arguement!! I'm in the "the more, the merrier" camp ;-)

I will get Hannah's ornament mailed tomorrow. I put the box out of Anwyn's way because she kept trying to open it, and then I forgot to post it - duh!

Goodness, you've been busier than Santa! It's a great feeling to get a lot accomplished in a small amount of time. I am inspired!

"Death Knight" doesn't sound very wholesome, now does it?

You have been very busy. I am sending an ornament (hopefully) in tomorrow's mail. I had to travel to RI to find the one I was looking for and I found it!
I too am behind in the paper work-but that is the life of the teacher. :)

I can't seem to make an account to "vote" or whatever for your site. So I thought I'd just let you know how much I enjoy your blog!

We put our tree up yesterday. The kids loved it. We put on lots of little angels - like the one I sent to you for Hannah. I hope you have got it already.

love to you,

HOT FUDGE PIE? Oh my gosh, I have to make this for my hubby. (okay, for me too) I used to have energy like you when I was your age. Now I am satisfied just reading about it:)
You inspire me and if I just do a little bit each day, I will be ready for Christmas too. I am looking forward to seeing Hannahs tree. It should be magnificently fussy and sparklie. I am praying you through this season sweetie. She is here too in California. I see sparklies everywhere and she comes to my mind. It is a tap on my heart to remember to pray for you. I love you.
