Funny Lily

This is going to have to be quick. Lissie's almost here and the house is a wreck!! Oops!

This morning I walked into Lily's room singing "Happy Birthday". She rolled over, opened one eye and grumpily informed me, "Is not my birfday." and rolled back over to go back to sleep.

Ah, never underestimate the power of a perky morning person. "Oh, but Sweetie, it is your birthday."
"It is? It's my birfday? It comed???? I'm FREE????" and she bounced out of bed quicker than a jackrabbit, all bright-eyed and busy-tailed. Hee hee! Don't you just LOVE kids?

We're going to Richmond this evening to celebrate Lil's day with a trip to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens to see the "Krisskriss" lights. We had such a wonderful time last year we decided to make it a family tradition to get together with Jen and her crew and Nana and Pop and go celebrate all things sparkly and bright. :o)

We'll go out to dinner, go to Jen's house for cake (which she most graciously made) and presents and then head out to see the lights.

Lily has slept through the night the past three nights and I'm hoping this won't throw her back off schedule. Keep your fingers crossed.

On a final note, one of my commenters, Melissa, has a friend who is going through a VERY rough patch right now. She just fought a valiant battle with breast cancer (double mastectomy) and was finally feeling better only to be told she has brain cancer. Please, let's keep Andrea in our prayers.

Okay, so not such a final note as I need to update about Paul. He's doing much better, thank goodness. They suspect he had a blockage in his bile system, causing all sorts of nasty things to occur. My mom suspects he also has gall bladder disease which is also making him all sorts of ill. Thank you so much for your prayers and concerns.

Today's Sparklies (so far):

1. Lily was a HOOT this morning. Hee hee hee!!
2. It's OVER. I'm home and I don't go back for TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!! :o) I love my kids but we were ALL ready for a break. Whew.
3. Lissie and Paul are coming. hooray!

No Milestones. But, you know, it's odd. This is the second year we'll be doing something for Christmas that we never did with Hannah that she would have LOVED. It feels strange not to be sharing it with her, but I don't miss it as it was nothing we ever did do as a family. Hm.

********************************
Off to clean. Hugs to you all!

Happy Birthday to Lily! Hope she has a wonderful day. I will certainly send a prayer up for Andrea- what difficult news that has to be. I just can't imagine the strength it takes to face a situation of that magnitude.

First - Happy Birthday to little Lil! I love ALL the ages!

Second - Thank you SO much for asking for the prayer tree to go out for Andrea. She called today at work (before we all hightailed it out of there because of the snow storm) and said she is feeling better. She is ready for another fight against the evil thing called cancer. I BELIEVE that prayer causes miracles. Please believe with me!

((hugs))

Rach, I have just found your blog for the first time. I am unbelievably touched by your grace and will to go on despite the sorrow you have experienced. You are right , no parent should ever have to suffer the loss of a child. It is no comparison but I can relate just a tiny bit as we lost our first daughter, Lilly, when I was 8 months pregnant. Your beautiful sunshine Hannah was indeed a gift and you are so strong to go on for Lily. I hope I have not reminded you of such sadness but I had to tell you how you have touched me and after reading your blog I went to my two beautiful daughters Gracie and Lucy and gave them such a huge hug, I didn't want to let go. Parents who have lost a child are always reminded to love their other children just a little more and hug them just a little closer. May peace be with you and your family. As we wrote for our Angel, Lilly, I will write to you - You have courage and strength, the breadth of which you can not imagine.
