Hooray! Blogger is working again! :o) Here are the photos from Saturday morning when Lil was "cooking".
A tray of decorated cookies.
A stack of freshly baked cookies.
Close up of the chef at work. Look at that spatula-ing technique!
Lily has had such fun with both of these toys. I'm so thankful to Jen for thinking to get them for her. :o)

Work was, as I knew it would be, fine. It really was. I didn't sleep well last night in anticipation of this morning, I had a mini anxiety attack as I was pulling into the parking lot, but it all worked out well.
The kids were just as sweet and hard working as ever and it felt good to get back into the routine of things. And, yet, I'm still feeling a little down. Hopefully with a good night's sleep, and the anticipation of celebrating B's birthday tomorrow I'll be on the up again.
We're having homemade BBQ, "death by potatoes" hash brown casserole, and homemade cole slaw. I figured there was just NO way I could make a lasagna and have it baked by dinner time tomorrow night. Therefore, we'll have that Sunday night and the BBQ tomorrow. Yum. :o)
I'll also make a cake Friday night so we can have it Saturday at Troy and Kat's. Tonight I'll pick a cake up at Ukrop's. They have the best cakes. Mmmm.

Today's Sparklies:
1.
Anyone know this diva??
2. Can you believe this hair:
3. Back to work, back to the normal rhythm of my life.
4. Lil has just been the sweetest of the sweetie pies the past few days and it's been wonderful. :o)
5. I get to go to the grocery store by myself. I'll stop by Starbucks (the one in the store), get a mocha latte and then shop, taking my time to enjoy the variety of foods and products available. :o) It really is all about the small things, isn't it?
No milestones.

Off to create that grocery list and hit the road. Lil's in bed and I want to be back in time for kick-off of the Ohio State/Texas game. Chances are I won't make it, but it gives me a goal, no?

What is this thing you call "death by potatoes" ... please send me the recipe when you send the others.
Lil is just too, too cute. She reminds me so much of you when you were that age.
Love,
Mom
I SO want to eat at your house!
Happy Birthday Brien!
My Kamryn gets "Cave Girl" hair, it's of course long curly and not fun to brush.
I told her the other day she was going to be a Cave Girl for Halloween next year, we wouldn't have to buy a wig ;-)
I just love the shots you got of Lily. Really great. She looks like she is loving her little kitchen.
Lily is just too darned cute! I especially love the diva photo. My granddaughter is into the dress-up thing now. She was here over the weekend and when she saw me put on some lip balm, she informed me she wanted "Grammy lips" too.
LOL at squishy! We still call things by the names the boys used -- mazagines and pooftaste are my favorites. And how nice that Lil has such a broad palate. My granddaughter does too. I have friends whose kids will only eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.

Glad today was a little better! I have a new found respect for you and all the mama's that have to get up and get out of the house every morning! I just had myself to get ready today and it was a job! My hats off to you for doing this marathon every day:) Hope you all enjoy the celebration tomorrow!! The food sounds wonderful!
Recipe please!!!! yup...the death by potatoes one. Has to be good, doesn't it...mmmmmm
Glad school was good for you today.

I love the diva picture! I'm glad the first day back went well. Happy Birthday to Brien! Hugs!
LOL, Marilyn! I almost spit coffee on my laptop over pooftaste! LOVE it!
I'm glad yesterday was a good day and I hope today is even better.
Happy Birthday to Brien!
I'm with the other commenter - I want to eat at your house. :)
Cheers,
Michele
Hugs.
What time is dinner?
Oh and I LOVE that pic of Lily! It is too cute! :)
Hi Rach,
I concur that the death by potatoes recipe must be shared with the class!!
Lily's ponytails are just eating me up, they are just divine! It looks like you had a nice holiday and Miss Lil sure did get some great gifts. I love the sushi kit the best, how cool is that!? I must check in to Melissa and Doug more, they do have the cutest things.
And thanks for sharing Hannah's tree, it is completely adorable and special and wonderful, and I love that all the ornaments were at the bottom because that is where Lily can reach.
Happy New Year!
Me Too!! Death by Potatoes. Gotta make those for my honey who loves all things potatoes. Happy Birthday Brien, you big Sweetheart!!! I just love Lily in the "kitchen", so darned cute and serious. I am excited today. The 50's Diner I ordered for the grandkiddos came today and I can't wait for them to play at it. I think I bought it for me because I couldn't afford these when I was a kid. (Of course I couldn't afford it, I was a kid!!duh!) But no one can play with it until Corky puts it together:) He's a sweetheart too. Have a wonderful celebration and I am so glad to read an upward swing in the yo. I love you.
Laurie
Cute pics of Lily and I really love those cookies. I want some to play with!!
All the food sounds fabulous and I am sure Brien will love it.
Are those real cookies? I didn't know if it was play cookie dough in the tube or not.
Hi Mimi,
Those "cookies" are in fact wooden. Melissa & Doug make some WONDERFUL wooden toys including puzzles, play structures and wooden foods. They are TOO much fun! :o)
