Jellybean Update

So, sure, I said I wouldn't post belly pics. I lied. Sorry. Never say never I guess. I didn't do this with the girls, and thinking about the fact this is my last pregnancy, I decided I wanted to commemorate this one in some way. I'm 14 weeks pregnant today. Wow! I'm officially out of the first trimester. I'm awaiting that second trimester "honeymoon". ;o)

(Please excuse the ugly blue bathroom. I've been repainting one "sponged" room at a time and this is the last to be done.)

My nice camera has a dead battery and in my typical pregnancy-brain induced fog, can't seem to find the charger. So, iPhone to the rescue. ;o) Anyhow, there is definitely a baby in there. Holy cow!

I got pretty big pretty fast with Lily, and in fact was quite HUGE by the end. The male OBs in my practice determined I was having a big 9-10 pound baby. The female asked me, "Do you think the baby's that big?" When I told her that I thought Lil was just average sized, she went with it. And, what do you know, in spite of my massive size (holy moly I was a sight to behold!) Lil was a bitty 6 pounds 12 ounces.

My body LOVES being pregnant, it LOVES growing babies and it does it well. :o)

So, this is the view I get when looking down. ;oP As I said, there is most definitely a Jellybean in there. :o)

In other news, more H1N1 in the fifth grade and still no vaccines at the OB's office. EEK! One of the local elementary schools will be vaccinating tomorrow from 4-8 and I'm planning on taking a book and waiting as long as it takes. When I called the OB's office this afternoon and explained that I've been exposed to more H1N1 than many people and that I really had NO desire to contract it, she came back with a couple of places I could get the shot. Thank goodness.

Nan is going to take care of Lil while I wait--thank you, Nan! :o)

Speaking of Nana (and Pop), this is for them:

Happy anniversary, guys! We love you!! :o)

Today's Sparklies:

1. Finding a place to get my shot tomorrow. Woo hoo! I'd take Lil, but she's not yet eligible as it's only been two weeks since her seasonal 'flu vaccine.
2. I pledged my NPR support today and will receive a cool green stainless water bottle. :o)
3. I'm looking forward to our visit to NOVA Sunday. We're going to meet up with Jess and her crew and head to a pumpkin patch. Woo hoo!
4. Skype. I LOVE Skype and haven't used it in forever. We talked to B last night and Lissie and Paul tonight. LOVE it! :o)

No Milestones.

Good for you for waiting it out and getting a shot regardless. Oh, prayers that it isn't too long. Been thinking about you with that!

No homeopathic stuff? So sad, but let's pray that you wouldn't have wanted to have to use it anyhow.

My favorite is the look-down picture of Jelly Bean. I think that it shows Jelly Bean the best! :)

Stay well!

Fabulous baby belly! Sorry about you being surrounded by 'flu at work and I really hope you manage to get your shot tomorrow. I still can't get the girls their regular seasonal flu shots as our pediatrician's office has run out. Just great.

Need you to email me the name of the school you are going to get vaxed at. My friend Rebekah, 36 weeks pregnant, and her two little ones really wants to be vaxed and there is none to be found in Newport News/Hampton Roads/VA Beach. Let me know so I can pass the info on to her in the a.m.

Cute belly! My belly button popped out this weekend so I am finally looking big and preggo. I should do another belly shot too, I am about 27 weeks now and the last one I took was at the 20 week mark.

What a beautiful, beautiful baby bump Rach! Love it!!!! There truly is a baby in there....
H1N1 has kicked our butts!! Both Bruce and I have been down and out for the last 4 days. Even though I haven't seen the "grands" for 2 weeks now, Gabe, Ella, and Lu have it too. My poor daughter is playing nursemaid to 3 "babies". Guess who is the most stoic of the bunch? Ella. Who has had the highest fever (103.7) and keeps saying she's "fine". The boys (Gabe and Lu) are the biggest complainers.Bless their little hearts. The boys just can't stand it. This morning as Misty was on the phone with the Kaiser advise nurse, Lu (the husband) screamed out "I can't see, I can't see". LOL
Misty kindly asked him to lay down and be quiet. (blindness is not one of the symptoms)He did, however, request gummi bears from the store. Oy vey.
Bruce and I just laid in bed and moaned and groaned at each other for 4 days...we are better now, and I must tell you....I will NEVER take feeling well for granted.Ever.

You look wonderful! God bless you and the jellybean!

Good luck getting the vaccine. I was worried about you with this -- exposed to so many kids, and preggers, too. We think we had it last week -- the doc said not to bother getting the shots, now that the kids and I have all been sick. Sudden high fevers, upper respiratory yuck, cough... true flu. But VERY short-lived, especially in the kids. Sometimes the flu can knock you down for weeks. I'm still pretty tired, but the fevers last only about 2-3 days, and it has just been recovery since then. We all got the tamiflu, though, and I do think that helped. The kids were flat out with this all weekend, but were back in school by Tuesday -- no fevers on Monday, so I sent them off. We're sitting out sports this week, though. So if that's swine flu, well, it wasn't so bad. But we didn't have any underlying medical issues to worry about, and so far no pneumonia or bronchitis aftermath. I think it's the aftermath that the docs are most worried about.

Hope you keep feeling good!

I was at my dr this morning and asked about the H1N1 vaccine--they had the nasal mist, but he said the injection wasn't out yet. Maybe they do have it where you are, BUT...if it turns out to be the nasal mist, a word to the wise...my dr told me that the mist is a "live culture", so it won't prevent you from getting H1N1, it'll just lessen the blow. I guess the injection is what you want to get. Just in case you are faced with the mist tomorrow and not the shot!!

As luck would have it, I got in today and found out that a coworker who left early Tues & was out yesterday HAS The Swine. Sooooo, as the resident germophobe of the office, I Lysol-wiped every surface, light switch, door knob, you name it! Hopefully no one else will get it, EEEEK!
