Wow, what a day. I'm beat. I'm seriously exhausted. Who knew going without food for 17 hours could do such a number on you? Who knew all that disgustingly sugary glucola on an empty stomach could make you so ill? Who knew I would have a HUGE sugar crash when my body had expended all the energy it absorbed from that much sugar? Who knew the lady jabbing me would hurt me so badly? Oh, who knew...?
I was stuck only four times, but trust me, it was enough. I managed to get my stack of tests graded (HOORAY!) and made friends with many of the ladies in the waiting room with me. :oP
Lil and I made it home in time to do laundry and a clean the bathrooms. Then we went to our hair appointments. Isn't her hair wonderful?
She's looking forward to not having to deal with the "rat's tangles" she gets during the night and I can tell you her hair looks SO much thicker than before. :o)B came to pick her up so I could have my hair done without worrying about a bored child. He drove her by Taco Bell (at her request) and almost had a meltdown laughing (he managed to keep it in to avoid hurting the Bit's feelings) when she asked him about the speaker. He told her what it was for and she responded, " Why is there a microphone there? I'm concerned." LOL!
Then, at home, she decided she wanted to try some of Daddy's hot sauce. She dipped her finger in, got a little bit and declared, "Dat's not hot." Then, took a larger finger full and said, "Oh, wait, it's hot if you get lots of it!" What a kiddo!
Meanwhile, my hair hadn't been cut since July, and my last color appointment was October 2008. The hairdresser we saw (oddly enough, another Melissa in my life) had had 2 1/2 hour block-out cancel on her and offered to foil my hair. I jumped at the chance. I'm a blonde again! ;o)
The cut isn't quite perfect, but it is workable. If nothing else, it's lighter and the ends are once again in decent shape. I'll be seeing Melissa again and I know we can get my hair just the way I like it. I've just been spoiled the past 15 years or so, having Jessie do my hair. :oP

Rachael can has food now.
Love the new cut! Lily's cheeks. I've never seen such big cheeks on a kid!
Hey! Feel better! Eat good stuff! Sop up that crap that they made you drink!
Lily's haircut is adorable - perfect for her.
So glad it's over, Rach! I thought about you lots today, and I'm sorry the pokes and sugar crash left much to be desired. You made it, though!
Lily's hair is adorable. It frames her beautiful face so well. I bet your new hairdo is gorgeous too.
Hugs!
So glad that ordeal is over!
I took the kids and myself to get Swine Flu vaccinations yesterday. Thomas is 9 now but can be dramatic and painful when he wants to be, so I told him I would film him if he was going to be silly. And show his friends.
It worked like a dream. He didn't even flinch.
I'm a mean mama.
I didn't even need to get my camera out.
Love,
Jane
Hugs.
Lily's hair looks great! Can't wait to see your new do, too. Sorry about the icky glucose and the jabby nurse, though... ugh, I hate that sugar crash feeling. Waylen looks pretty good!
How did B manage to keep a straight face over the "I'm concerned" comment? She's a live wire, that Lily! Love the hot sauce comments, too. What a great thing that you blog all this stuff... I don't, and I know I've forgotten a lot. You'll always have the memory now.
Hope today goes well. I'm off to teach Modern Lit.
I had gestational diabetes all three pregnancies. The last one, we didn't even bother with the 3 hr once I failed the 1 hr we called it and I started monitoring and shots. UGH!
I always had to get a burger or some big protein meal after to feel better.
If per chance you don't pass (I'm sending my postive vibes) email me and I can help you with some of what to expect. In addition having the experience, I am also a prenatal educator.
Lily's hair is SOOOOOO cute!! love it! Glad your test is over. I hate that orange drink!
I love her hair, and would love to see a pic of yours, too! I got mine cut yesterday, 4 1/2 inches off! It had been NINE months since my last cut! :)
Cute, cute hairdo! Love that cheesy grin too.
Sorry the test was so gruesome but glad you had something productive to do while sitting around. I'm keeping everything crossed that it is clear.
I haven't commented in ages, but I have to say Lily has the most beautiful smile and eyes!!!! And her haircut is perfect for her! She really is growing up so much!
Glad you got that icky test done now too!
