Items of Note

  1. My dog can't tell the difference between grass and garden.
  2. Dani arrived today!!!!!!!  I'm SO excited!
  3. A woman who lives in Germany definitely needs a trip to the 'Jay for a reintroduction to America. ;o)
  4. I have a POD in my driveway.
  5. Dani and I will be going through said POD, making piles and selling and donating and junking.  Sounds like what I did back in March, no?
  6. Kat and the kids are coming for a visit tomorrow.  Woo hoo!  LOTS of friends!
  7. The pok choi were SO yummy with our chicken this evening.
  8. Lil is growing up WAY too fast.  Her reading and writing are growing by leaps and bounds.
Sparklies up there.

BTW, any of you former teachers who have no plans to reenter that vaunted profession have any suggestions for what to do with all those materials and such that are currently stored in my garage??  Thanks!

I'm not a teacher, but I do know that there are mission schools abroad that don't have such materials. Perhaps check with your church to see if they accept teaching materials to be donated to the less fortunate. Just a thought. I know that several years ago, we gathered donations of school supplies for an orphanage in Haiti. They loved everything that was sent. Often, you'll have Mission Boards of churches that will ship these items from the monies that they have in their missions funds.

You are a girl to clear and toss, aren't you? Why not share that talent?

Have a great time visiting and working!

I gave most of my teaching stuff away to teacher friends. I kept all my books and essential things, but other stuff I gave to friends.

I gave most of my stuff to the newest teacher in our school. She really appreciated it, but I think a mission school is a better idea, I just didn't think of it.

Enjoy your friends. I miss mine so much...:o(

So does that mean you're not planning to return to teaching at some point? Just curious from your question. :o)

Rach, I would think there are many disadvantaged schools that would love to take whatever you have on offer.
We got pok choi at the FM yesterday, too. Along with some Ramps.... I'd never heard of them until the chef at a local restaurant used them.. yummy...

Your babies are both growing so fast. It's wonderful that you have had the chance to work with Lil. She's going to really appreciate that going forward!
big hugs

Love the above ideas about donating but if you want to make some cash I would suggest trying to sell them on ebay to homeschoolers.
