Miss Independent

As I may have mentioned once or twice before, Miss Bean is quite the independent puss.  We're fairly certain "Me do" are going to be her next words.  She has noticed when Bitty eats she has a plate with each item, and she has a fork and spoon.

Obviously, Beanie needed those items as well.  So, for the past few weeks, I've been putting a plate on her tray (and holding my breath hoping she doesn't upend it all over the floor and toss the plate after it) and giving her a fork and spoon.  Today, I included a yogurt, fully intending to spoon it in her, as always.

I found this before I had a chance to pick up the spoon.  Alrighty then.

Needless to say it made her VERY happy.

As well as very messy.

We had a change of outfits after lunch...

Oh, and those nicely cut up strawberries on her tray?  Nope.  She doesn't want those.  She wants the whole ones, like her big sister.

Of course she does.

I have to say, though, for her first foray into spooning in food, she did an excellent job.  Take a look for yourself:

Or, maybe you like this one where she is distracted by "Between the Lions"?

I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed.  The plate stayed on the tray, she ate all the yogurt, she enjoyed herself, and she didn't make nearly as big a mess as she could have.  All in all, I call that a success. :o)

That is amazing. My granddaughter is 20 months and is just now starting to be able to get it in her mouth. She will also throw down the plate. I should not have been giving her our keepsake ones but she broke a rugrat one and a barney one. Can't find those anymore. She is adorable.

That is AMAZING! She did a great job and oh the look of pride and joy she has. :) So funny how the littler ones have to copy the older ones. The more we want them to stay little, the more they want to be independent doesn't it seem?

Thanks for sharing these!!!

Wow! She just takes care of business doesn't she? I think that is great that she is so eager to try new things. Her blue eyes are so beautiful. Love your new banner. I love seeing all 3 of your girls together.

She has excellent spoon to mouth skills. Actually, given all that she had and whatnot, I believe that her eating was not that messy at all. Hooray!

I just wanted to say how cute your girls are. They're growing up so fast. Every day I stop here for the latest adventure. How they brighten up the day. Then we pop over to go "traveling" with Dr. M on her excursions. Thanks for sharing with us.
