Christmas Eve 2011

The monkey bread has been made, the cookies have been set out (with a Coke this year--Lil thought Santa could maybe use the caffeine--wonder where she got that from?), and now B's making us some adult libations.

The candles are burning, the Christmas music is playing and everything is done.

There's nothing left to do except wait for the girls to sleep and enjoy the peace.

This may be my most favorite time of all.  All is calm, all is bright.

Merry Christmas, everyone.  May your day be filled with family, fun and laughter.

Rach-
at least you remembered the liquid for Santa. We had the cookies-5 one for each child and the glass for milk. I forgot the milk. OOOPS! Santa left us a note: Did you all forget the milk?
Hope Santa enjoyed his caffeine!
Have a merry!

Rach, your photos brought a huge smile to my face - and my heart. What a wonderful, peaceful and serene home you have created for this, the most wonderful time of the year. What amazing memories for you all. Your efforts to get the house just right were worth every single minute.
Love and Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and your family!
could you please tell me what kind of knife you use to cut your beautiful peppermint fondant? When I cut it, it crumbles a lot. What is your secret to cutting it? Thanks

Cathy,

I use my big ol' chef's knife to cut it. Make sure it's good and sharp. I also cut it when it is still a wee smidge soft-ish. That helps quite a bit. It took me years of trial and error to get it right, that's for sure. I hope this helps!

Thanks Rach! I will try that next time. I was trying to cut as soon as I took it out of the freezer.

I just can't get over how much I love all of your decorations. Now how long does it take you to put them away ;) That first picture should be in a magazine...so peaceful.
