Slowly Getting There

I'm making progress--just at a slower pace than last year.  Last year, although Lil and I were doing school, Ellie was taking two naps a day and into much less mischief than she is this year.  At least, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;o)

I finally got all my card ideas together and cut out the materials.  I should be able to get them knocked out before Friday.

This one is cake.

As is this one.

I utterly ADORE this one--it's my favorite this year--but it takes a bit more work as I have to be careful to align all the snowflakes correctly.

There are two versions of this one and B and I are still trying to decide which of the two we like better.

Last night we liked this one better because of the perceived depth of the trees, but maybe I like the top one better in daylight.  Who knows.

What I do know is I'll be making this one last because it involves lots and lots of sparkles which means glitter everywhere.  EVERYWHERE.  Oh my.  This one will also be the most time intensive since it either involves the heat gun and glue and glitter, or just glue and glitter.  Either way there is drying time involved.

I still have gift tags to make (those should come together in no time), gifts to wrap (both birthday AND Christmas!) and fondant, Noel balls, java shortbread and another batch of ginger cookies to make.

Jessie will be here Wednesday so I need to clean up the school room so she has some place to work with Ella.  I'm also going to help her make some cookies for her cookie exchange.

There's still plenty of time, I know that, but I'm beginning to feel a bit harried.  Eek!  I think once the fondant is made and the cards are starting to come together I'll be MUCH better.  Whew.

This next bit is mostly for my own records--
Ellie seems to have a bit of a yeast infection we'll be treating.  Joy.  I'm sure she's going to looooove that.  :oS

Fisbee Watch
So, it would seem Lil left her dirty socks in the middle of the kitchen last night.  Fisbee obviously found them, and is currently wearing them as he sits on the light fixture above the kitchen table.  Awesome.

Today's Sparklies:

1.  Not having to go to the doctor to have them call in a prescription for Ellie.
2.  Low-key day.
3.  Working in the offudio.  That's always such a stress-free time for me.
4.  Easy dinner of steak terriyake and salad for dinner.  Mm.
5.  I got the last odds and ends for a couple more floofy wreaths. :o)
6.  Snuggling with Beanie.  Bless her heart, she doesn't feel well and wants to be cuddled.  I can understand that.  But, it's the only time she will be still long enough for me to snuggle her.

No milestones.

I like the second tree card, though the first one is nice. I agree with the depth of the second.

Loveliness, my friend! Gorgeousness!

Sorry Ellie is sick. Poor baby! At least you are getting it over now instead of next week.

Your cards are beautiful! Fisbee looks too darn cute in his scarf! My girls love that he's in Lil's socks. :)

Lots of prettiness there!

I hope Ellie starts to feel better very soon.

A friend of mine over here has a Fisbee, although they call him Pixel. I pointed her to your blog last night, and she has been giggling at what your Fisbee has been doing. It gave her some great ideas!

Rach
relax-just think you are also not grading papers, dealing with 18 kids on a holiday high, and creating your wonderful cards and baking yummie treats

Rach, your cards are fabulous. I can't decide which one of the trees I like better either. Now... I have to go check on Noel Balls. I have no idea what they are - so off to google. Poor Beanie. It was great that you didn't have to go to the doctor and could just pick up a script!
Now.. that Fisbee.... the least he could have done is cleaned the floor in those socks whilst he was at it. Sure looks fun on top of the light fitting, though!

In July, I was going to make my Christmas cards. Then, I decided it was way too early. I've been on the road for so long--going on three weeks--that I may not get home in time to make them. ACK!

Your cards, of course, are outstanding

This is what my friend Michelle has to say after visiting your blog:

Jane that blog is so cool - she's SO much more creative with her Elf than we've been!! I need to step it up - I love the snowball fight especially...we have those tiny marshmallows and could do that! And lol at all her chocolates...my dining table resembles about half that by the time I'm done ;-) Thank goodness all my chocolate dipping is now over for the year.

Does Fisbee stay wherever you put him all day? Also, do the kids think he's a "real" elf? This is just pure curiosity, since I'm not too familiar with the Elf on a Shelf story! :)
