It's not finished yet, but here is the Bean's new room. We still need to move the valences from her old room, and I need to remove the cork board and move it to the offudio (it's Hannah's and has a bunch of wonderful Hannah things hanging on it) and hang the little white shelf in it's place, but, overall, it's finished. Oh, wait, we also need to install shelving in the closet. Then it's finished. ;o)
This is the view from the doorway.
From the corner with the rocking chair.
From the corner opposite the chair.
From the tree tent corner.
It's a warm and cozy space and Miss Ellie just loves it. She and I played in there for over an hour today.
She and Lil played in there this morning during "free time". (Free time is what Lil has if she has finished all her morning routine before 8:45 and time to head for the bus.)
Fun times. :o)
There were no problems sleeping last night, nor have there been any problems this afternoon. In fact, when I took her upstairs for her nap she looked at me and said, "Night night" and was reaching for her crib. We may be able to skip moving the blackout drapes since she seems to be doing okay with the amount of light in there. We'll see.
As an aside, boy is her hair getting long. It was like it grew over night. Crazy.
And, my big girl. I can't believe how much older she is seeming to me.
On an unrelated note, Ellie and I were playing around with my phone as I tried to take a video of her reading her Karen Katz manners book and she saw herself on the screen. She looked at it excitedly, pointed and said, "aHannah!" Obviously she must look like her big sister. I know B and I see it, but so does she. I told her no, it was her and she kept insisting it was Hannah. Never argue with a 20 month old--you WILL lose. :oP

Today's Sparklies:
1. My cardinals are back:
And, since I hung the suet block, I have two different woodpeckers visiting each day as well. The little finches are back, as are the chickadees, titmice and more. Who knew I would turn into such an avid bird watcher?
2. I found this hiding on my camera:
Christmas Eve after Santa had visited. I heard him after I had been up to go to the bathroom...;o)
3. Bible study tonight. I've not had it since October and am really looking forward to it.
No milestones.

I love the room and that hiding tree is great. Before I read your caption, I thought, "Ellie's hair sure grew fast"! I agree, Ellie resembles Hannah in the pictures you've shared. Lily looks more and more like a 'school girl' and very sweet. Your sparklies are fun, I discovered photographing and identifying birds the past year myself. Your Christmas Eve photo could be a Christmas card or in a Home Beautiful magazine. It seems to me that you have been very busy!
Yeah for the Bean adjusting well. I love all of the light that she has but I do seem how maybe it could be an issue. I'm glad that things are good so far! She looks so tiny in that rocking chair. I love how she sees Hannah in pictures of herself...so sweet. That cardinal is just stunning.
Cuuuuute! Love the little tree tent.
Santa did a good job! Your Christmas tree is amazing! You definitely have the Christmas glow. So pretty!
Beanie-wonderful! :)
What a sweet room. And what a beautiful tree! Hope you are all well!!
She looks so delighted to be in her new room. As always I LOVE the yellow you chose for the walls. It's beautiful. SO jealous of your cardinals. I wish we had them here. All we can boast is pigeons and pistol packing thugs. :/
I'm a very infrequent commenter but I read your blog all the time. I'm glad the transition to the new room is going well! Your rocking chair is beautiful.
My own Eleanor (about 2 months older than Ellie, nicknamed Nora) would love that little tree fort and it would match her room beautifully. Would you mind sharing where you found it?
Rach, the girls are getting so big - it seems they are growing overnight! Ellie seems to love her fabulous new room. The pic of Christmas Eve post Santa is glorious!f Ah.... the joys of the avifauna back in your yard and I am very jealous of our titmice.
hugs
