Busy Bitty

Lily had a wonderful Christmas.  She was given many delightful gifts, a couple of which required her decorating expertise.

Robin, Lawrence and Josh gave her some fuzzy bobble headed kitties to decorate, complete with feathers, rhinestones, crowns, glitter glue and more.

Lil eagerly anticipated Ellie's nap every afternoon for three days so she could get to work on her kitties.

Bitty may have grown older, but she's still the same little kid who loved to sit quietly and paint.  There is nothing this child loves more than to sit in peace and work on art.

Ah, my sweet little introvert.  Her little sister the extrovert is going to drive her absolutely batty in the coming years...
This is the first of the three kitties she fancified.

Aunt Jen and family gave Lil a sparkling sequin kit. She's made one of these so far and it kept her entertained for over an hour.

Again, she is most happy and content when sitting, working quietly on art.  With this project, you simply peel off the paper, exposing a sticky dot.  Using the wax crayon, you grab the appropriate sequin and put it right on the sticky.  So simple, and yet, so utterly engrossing.  :o)

It's much harder for Bitty to work on art these days as she is rarely left in peace by her sister.  Ellie just loves Lil so much she can hardly stand it, and wants to be with her constantly.  And, as I've said before, if Lily does it, then so does Miss Bean.  Poor Bitty.  She just wants some time and space to herself sometimes.  I'm going to have to work on Beanie with that as she gets older and is capable of understanding.

For now, I suppose I'll have to get used to hearing Lil's door slam and Ellie's howls of impotent rage as she has once again been forcibly removed from Lily's domain.  Oh my.

Today's Sparklies:

1.  Ellie and I had a good morning out stocking up on household necessaries (tp, toothpaste, bleach, etc.), procuring Brien's birthday gifts (his day is tomorrow!), and getting in some staples so we aren't eating chicken nugget tacos for dinner again anytime soon...oy.  Bad planning on my part. :shakes head:
2.  The fact we have enough clothes that I could go two weeks without doing laundry.
3.  A working washer and dryer to take care of the aforementioned laundry.
4.  Dinner with Nana and Pop and Josh, Dana and Ever.  The last three will be returning to AZ tomorrow evening and we want to get in one more good visit before they leave.

No milestones.

I can just see you two sitting and coloring together. Sounds a lot like my Jamison. I love her little kitties...very sweet. We'll have to cross our fingers for more nap time for Ellie so Miss Lily can have her quiet time.

Very lovely kittie kittie. We're currently working on the knitting machine (gotta figure out how go get the danged scarf off of it), then we will Bedazzle. Let the winter crafting begin!

So sweet! I have a feeling little Lily is an introvert and little Ellie is an extrovert. :)

Kaitlin=Lily. Hallie=Ellie. It's the same story around here. Kate wants peace, Hal wants to tackle her and wrestle around. The four of them would have a ball! That Kitty thing with the dots looks very cool. We may need one too. :) Have fun on B's birthday. Enjoy the rest of your family visit!

Sorry about the sugar bowl! I was thinking of you, but have to admit to rooting for the other team = Karl's from Ann Arbor, so we're pretty blue and maize in this house (which was convenient when we moved to West Virginia and the gold and blue Mountaineers). Because of you, though, I root for VT whenever possible.
I didn't grow up with this football stuff but I watched three bowl games this week, three nights in a row, until after midnight, and now I'm really tired! Moving to a university town has brought this on me, apparently.

I'm glad your holidays were mostly merry and bright!

Rach, what bliss for the bit. What fabulous presents, too! She did a REALLY good job decorating the kitties. Happy Birthday, B! We hope it was a fabulous day and that you all had a wonderful weekend.
Hugs
