Budding Make-up Artist

Soooo, what is the rule about "quiet children"?  What's that?  Check on them immediately?

Yeah, I need to remember to heed that advice...
In my defense (is there really one?), B and I were engrossed in doing the taxes.  I had run into the offudio to get our charitable contributions and property taxes files, and when I left, it would seem I failed to latch the door behind me.

As B and I got down to business imputing each and every donated item to the thrift stores, Ellie ran off...and we didn't notice.

Please ignore my less than glamorous hair and instead note the lovely headband Ellie is wearing.
No, of course we didn't.  As soon as we finished, I realized she was missing, put two and two together and raced for the offudio--where it was obviously too late.

Once again I thank Crayola for their wonderful washable markers.  :oP

She did in fact come clean and didn't wind up going to church looking like a "Braveheart" extra, so that's a good thing, right?  And, it was a swift wake-up call to Mama to pay attention!  At least she had fun, right?!? ;o)

*****************************
Sparklies:

1.  I found four Johnny Jump-Ups in the yard.  Okay, two in the yard and two in the flower bed.
2.  The daffodils are popping up.  We'll have them by the end of the month. Unbelievable.
3.  I got all our errands run this morning--grocery, tarjay, pet store.  Whew.
4.  I made awesome hummus for lunch.  Of course, I shouldn't go near anyone for the next week until the garlic subsides a bit...
5.  B's car is fixed so I could have my car.  Hooray!

No milestones.

Rach.... you have to say... she has an amazing eye for color. She chose just the right shade of blue and even managed to get shades of that to match the paler blue! Oh.. and it matches her eyes, too! What a hoot!
Your hummus... sounds wonderful! The more garlicky the better!

That little spark! She is a busy girl. She looks adorable, and hooray for washable markers! I can't believe all of these spring flowers coming up! The buds on my trees are all starting to open. I don't know why leaves bother to fall off here. The leaves fall around Christmas, and come back by Feb.

Did she really just color herself? Not the wall/carpet/furniture????

Definitely laughing over here and glad they're washable!

Hi Rachel. Longtime reader here. This post made me laugh, and reminded me of the book Purple, Green and Yellow by Robert Munsch. You might want to read it to your little ones. :)

I have to say that your last post foreshadowed this one as you talked about how Miss Bean is not allowed near the markers for fear that this exact thing would happen.

She is quite the artist!

As a previous commenter mentioned, you didn't say anything about her artistic ability extending to anything other than tattooing herself - are lucky enough to have a child that leaves all other surfaces alone?

Believe it or not, the little stinker DID only decorate herself and NOT the carpet and furniture. Lucky, I know.

I don't mind if she uses the markers when she's supervised--too bad she wasn't here. ;o) We DO have Color Wonder markers, but I've not gotten them out in a while. Hm.

Your previous post was entitled, "My Little Artist." Indeed.
