Swimming

Man I love digging through my "old" pictures.  Look at my sweet girlies.  Just look at them. :o) Lil still has those chubby little toddler paws and looks so young. And, there's Miss Beanie in her teeny newborn state.  I think that may have been the only time in her life she was truly still.  :shakes head:

It was my evening to drive to swim practice so I threw on my suit, suited up Beanie and headed over to practice with Lil and Alicia in tow.

My plan had been to watch Bitty for a few minutes and get a feel for how she's doing.  Instead, I spent a few seconds watching Miss Bit and then it was off to the baby pool with Ellie Roo.  What I did see of Bitsty looked good.  She's kicking across the shallow end and going under and becoming more and more comfortable with the water.  That little Lil up there wouldn't have been comfortable setting one toe in the pool, let alone her entire face and head. She's growing up.

Now, the Bean?  Good lordy mercy.  The child is wild in the water!!  She is utterly fearless and will throw herself face-first into the water.  ACK!  She splashes, kicks, goes under (much to my terror--I'm right on top of her and yank her back up the minute she tries it) and is in general a danger to my nervous system.  She played and played and played and was quite unhappy with me when I finally took her out.  She was a quivery bundle of frozen Bean, her entire body shivering, lips blue.  This child should not be let out of anyone's reach, let alone sight if there is water nearby. :oS

Isn't it funny how different siblings can be?  Hannah liked water but didn't go crazy over it.  Lil, from the moment she was born, has been leery of water.  Beanie?  Holy moly...

Tomorrow is a work day so the kids are all home.  I'm going to drop Lil off with Michelle while I meet C at CW for our walk/run.  Our pool is open from 10 til noon tomorrow, so we're going to take the girls and let them play and in general wear themselves out.  :o)  I'll be keeping a hand on Ellie the entire time. ;o)

Since B and I are having a grown-up away time weekend--thanks to Nana and Pop and their willingness to keep the girls and Holly (from the bottom of my heart I thank you!!), I'll spend tomorrow afternoon getting ready for our trip.  Angelica will be taking care of the buns and kitty boys, so everything is set.

Brien has been burning the candle at both ends for about three weeks now.  There has been a bit of a shake-up at his work, so he's doing his job plus another job AND two additional assignments.  Today he had a meeting at 9, one from 10-12, and another from 1-3. In that one hour gap, he had a random drug test (SURPRISE!) and lunch.  He didn't to be in his own office until close to five and as of right now (9:00), he hasn't yet left work.  This has been common of late. :o(  He needs this getaway more than anything.

Sparklies:

1. The dragonflies are out full-force.  I saw the most brilliant emerald one today.
2.  Lil still loving her swim class.
3.  Beanie in the water.  Sure, she frightens me, but she just looooooves the water and her joy is infectious.
4.  My sweet girls.  Boy do I love them. :o)
5. Just talked to B, he's on his way (only 45 minutes until he's home--it's 9:15, fyi).

My kids were all different in the water, too. The oldest loved water but was afraid to put her head underneath forever. The middle girl is a fish. My youngest cried and cried every time we brought him into the wading pool and now he does pretty well but remains cautious.

Swim lessons sooner than later for Beanie, eh? That child does throw herself into things with every ounce of her tiny being. Good to hear that Lil is moving along quite nicely with her lessons.

Dragonflies? I scared the tar out of one in the garden the other day. We've got a surprisingly large number of them. Thank you excessively early warm weather!

Yay for you and B time...enjoy. Caleb was the same way Miss Bean is but he has calmed down a bit. I totally get about siblings being SO different...mine certainly are. Hope you are having a FANTASTIC Friday.

Hugs! I haven't been able to get to your blog for awhile -- on my ipod, it comes up with a "you aren't approved" message?! But I'm on the laptop today, and sure enough, here you are! I've been thinking of you and the girls, and I'm glad you are doing well. Your garden photos... oh my goodness. And the girls, too -- so much bigger, so lovely (even when they are blue...)

Just thought I'd pop in while I have a chance to say hello. I'll have to figure out the whole weird ipod thing so I can "see" you more often!

My #3 kiddo (22 months) is fearless about water as well....totally new territory for me as my other boys are just now learning to swim at 8 and 5 and have a healthy fear of the water.

I flew solo at the pool yesterday for two hours with all three of them The little one is going to keep me on my toes, for sure. Jumping in randomly... going under... running THEN jumping in. No fear what.so.ever. Oh my oh my...
