It's been rather whirlwindish around these parts. (Sorry I freaked you out, Korinthia! It has been awhile since I've posted...) First Lil was sick at the beginning of the week. Then I had Bible Study so I didn't post Wednesday. Then, Ellie got a fever and crubby nose and things continued to be busy.
I've been trying to catch up on chores and laundry and those sorts of things--we don't even want to go there with the amount of laundry I've had piling up...B was ready to go out and purchased new undershirts (it was that bad *blushes*).
Lil and I have been getting on each others' nerves and I've been a grumpy beast of epic proportions. She seems to be feeding off that and I can tell you right now I dread her (and Ellie's for that matter) teenage years.
But, there have been calm moments as well.
Why oh why can't there be more moments like this? Sometimes they're so sweet I can hardly stand to watch them because they make my teeth ache.
And then, the moment passes and I'm left questioning why in the world I thought it would be a good idea to have another...:eye roll: (Okay, not really, but you know what I mean.) Ah, the joys of having a sister. Who else would get into all your things and destroy your bedroom? Who else would taunt and tease you with things you can't have or aren't yet old enough to play with?
I will say there are more moments of sweetness than those of chaos, but those chaotic moments are the ones that stick with me. But, isn't that true about much of life? The bad sticks with us and stands out in our memories while the sweet and gentle moments fade in their wake.
And, speaking of those chaotic moments...yeah...
It seems we have moles.
And, we have a varmint/critter hunting dog.
I don't believe he was successful in his endeavors.
I do know he was successful in digging a big ol' hole in my yard and making a huge mess of the girls' bathroom when he jumped out of the bathtub while B was in the midst of bathing him.
Yup. Chaos.

Sparklies
1. Lil and Bean working together on Valentines today.
2. I made the most amazing smelling lemon oatmeal bars this evening. I let you know how they came out.
3. The Ransom Box is working SO well! I just go around at the end of the evening and pop in anything that isn't where it belongs. No fuss, no muss. Yay!
4. I cleaned out and reorganized the school/play room. I had finally had enough and spent a good two or three hours in there. Lil was a doll when she got home from Cam's and helped out quite a bit even thought it wasn't her mess.
5. Ellie watched B dropping bath color tabs in her tub this evening and said, "Pink and den de byoo will make purple!" Miss Smarty Pants!
No milestones.

I guess I hadn't realized that it was that long since you had posted because I pester you so much. ;) I did send you something pretty sweet that I saw in Amish Country. :S
Chaos? I have noticed that you were quiet this weekend. All is well. Life happens and laundry has taken up residence all over my side of the bed. Must hop off here to deal. I was busy bringing K up to speed on school bits and homeschooling her today. Math review for test on Tuesday, reading review for make-up test tomorrow, spelling review for make-up test tomorrow and a social studies review because we're still digging out from the crub at the beginning of the quarter.
Then I started in on her bedroom to reassemble after days of bed confined illness. Then I got crabby. Then my people ran. The good news is that K's bed is back around and her bedroom looks decent. The bad news is that a ransom box isn't big enough and a large plastic shopping bag is holding the contents of everything I found on the floor or shoved into her book case.
It's not pretty.
There will be no TV had until girlie deals with the bag. Unfortunately, math test studying takes priority tomorrow, so Tuesday night is her earliest night to deal with the bag of death. I hated making it, but it was the nicest thing I could do when I saw miscellaneous bits of Legos and American Girl things stowed not in their proper creature homes. AARRGGHH! And she didn't have a little sister come in to destroy the joint!
I probably should have e-mailed all of this to you, but since it is already typed, everyone else can enjoy it now, too!
Be well and mole free!
Oh welcome back! Don't mean to sound panicky, I think I'm just a natural worrier. (I don't post nearly as often as you do, so I think I'd have to disappear for a month before anyone would check in.)
Love the sweet picture of the girls reading together.
Parenting is definitely not for the weak!!! Rondell, Caleb and I have had quite a time lately. Hopefully things ease down a little for you. I have a ROY G BIV pic on my blog if that'll cheer you up :)
Rach, I believe that the chaos moments are interjected in life to help us really appreciate the sweet moments! The chaotic moments can also leave us with some laughs and stories to share for many years!
As for your mole-chaser...what a mess! Mind you, be glad he's the size he is. I used to have to get in the shower to bathe my afghans and then I spent hours blow drying them!
Cant wait to hear how your oatmeal lemony bars came out. It sounds like a great combination for bath soap bars, too!
hugs
